Bedtime Stories September 2009

Lately the kids have enjoyed us telling them "bedtime stories". Most of the time that means they want to hear a story of an adventure of when we were younger. Stephen has told them stories of him coon hunting, building a dirt ramp, milking at the dairy, and just anything he can think of. I have told them of the times my family and I walked along the beach catching crabs and looking for shells, the typhoons that came through Guam, cake decorating and the Montgomery County Fair, riding my bike, and so many more. They soak them up.

It sure makes me grateful for all the fun times Stephen and I had growing up, and for all the important things our parents taught us. It is so neat having the opportunity to teach all of our children now some of the same things we remember growing up.

We have solicited a few family members to tell some bedtime stories as well. Here are a few photos.
Here is Papa Troy telling them of the times he went deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Here is Uncle Keith telling them of the time they all went "skiing" through the pasture using a piece of plywood tied to the back end of the truck and slip sliding through the cow patties.

We also got PawPaw to read them a book Stephen remembers his dad reading to him growing up, "Brer Rabbit". We only got videos of that though.
What fun times!
