Our Wood Buning Stove!! 12-7-09

It has been a desire for a number of years to get a wood burning stove. Well, this was the year! It was our Christmas present to each other. It has been so nice keeping the house about 10 degrees warmer than we usually do, and not having to pay a dime. What a blessing!!
Stephen and Jacob Burow getting things outside all set up.
All the boxes of pipe all over the living room. We got the stove and the pipe from Tractor Supply.
They were way up in the air getting all the pipe connected.
A little measuring.

Martin wishing he could go on the roof too.

Getting the interior pipe done.
Getting some wood at Mr. Egly's.
The finished project!

Shan and Paige's Wedding Trip 12-5-09

We left to go to Shan and Paige's wedding and made a little vacation out of it. Here are some pictures of our fun trip.
All the little ham-bones. We were in the Kerrville area and did a little driving around looking at the countryside.
We found some snow flurries and drove for a little while hoping to get to a place where the snow was sticking, but it was to far away. We just stopped off and let the kids play in the flurries. They had a blast! Martin doing a belly flop.
Millie doing one of her acrobatic moves while playing in the flurries.
Elaina enjoying playing outside in the cold.
Bella in the snow flurries.
James stayed inside the camper mostly with me because he had a fever.
We walked through Fredericksburg on Friday before the wedding on Saturday. We met up with Uncle Tommy and Aunt Marilyn and Sharla and Lane. We walked through some shops and had a real fun time.
The kids found a little gold fish pond that looked real intriguing.
Here we are at another shop in Fredericksburg.
Here we are at the rehearsal dinner. It was at a BBQ place. It was very good!
On Saturday before the wedding, we drove around for the day and had a great time looking at the beautiful hill country.
Weeeee.
There goes Bella Jane.
Millie taking her turn on the slide.
...and away he goes.
Papa and Elaina Marie.
All our little ones in a row on the slide at a nice park at a place to go floating down the river in the summer time.
James had fever again, so he and I just watched the kids play from inside the camper.

Breakfast feast!!! We ate at Cracker Barrel on Sunday morning before church. It was very delicious!!

On our way home from the wedding, we came through San Antonio on Sunday morning. After praying about where to go to church, the Lore led us to Mount Moriah Christian Fellowship. It was a special treat to worship with some sweet people. Martin and Millie were given the opportunity to stand up in the front of church and quote their memory verses. I was so proud!

Catching up (end of November 09)

Here are some pictures of some things that have been going on around our house towards the end of November.....
James has cut 3 teeth already,
and is now working on his 4th one
In these pictures, you can see the bottom 2 very well. One of his top two did break through and it looks as though his 2nd top tooth won't be far behind.
We got a new fridge/freezer combo for our camper! This man came over to our house to install it for us. Stephen and he took out the old broken one, and slipped in the brand new one.
Papa Troy came over to bring a few necessary parts and to help out.
This was a pretty picture of the Herzog's house right before a rain with the beautiful fall colors.
We stopped off and got us a Christmas tree on our way home from church.
Martin and I picked it out and our little helpers helped tie it to the ladder on the back of the camper.

Shan and Paige's Shower 11.27.09

We had a wedding shower for Shan and Paige at our house. It turned out well. We had sausage and chips for supper with cookies for dessert. Mrs. Herzog, Katherine, Amanda and Rebecca, and Aunt Pam all helped out. Everyone brought a few things and we pulled it off well that evening. We had a fun time. Here is the invitation...

We will be having a P.S. gathering at our house.
It's a party for Shan and his future spouse.
P stands for Paige and S is for Shan
So we're having a PS party for this lady and man.
Come join us for an afternoon of laughs, food and a game
Oh yes, and presents and gifts which are one in the same
Lets send them on their way with any PS things you can find
Here are some ideas of things that come to mind....
Pillows, sheets, spatula, plow, spade or shovel
Silverware, picture frame, screwdriver or puzzle
Photo album, step ladder, pliers, pots and pans
Slow cooker, picnic basket, soft soap to wash your hands.
We will get started around 4:00, with the things we have planned to do
On Friday, November 27th, which is the day after Thanksgiving (just to remind you)
We will have this party at Stephen and Christina Herzog's 901 N. Mt. Miriah Rd.
And, since it is November, we will have a campfire with hopes that it will be cold.
Let's all sit back, relax while we can, and enjoy this nice outdoor setting.
P.S.- just 1 week later we will all be celebrating Shan and Paige's wedding.

We had a game to get to know Shan and Paige better and at the last minute we got Uncle Tommy and Aunt Marilyn hooked into playing it as well. As you can see from Aunt Marilyn's face, she was a bit shocked. You see, Mrs. Herzog had everyone there pretend they were going to write their own name down on a sheet of paper, then right before the game someone was going to draw to see who the lucky married couple would be that would get to play the game. The trick was though, that everyone wrote down "Tommy and Marilyn" on the paper, so that way when either Uncle Tommy or Aunt Marilyn would draw, they would draw themselves. It was so funny. They did a great job!
Here is half the croud
Here is the other half. There are a few people missing from those 2 pictures, and we had some show up later, so we did have a few more guests.
Shan and Paige answering their set of 20 questions about how well they know each other.
Stephen and the girls helped with the gifts.
