Firewood 12-09

One morning we went as a family to drive around the farm, check the cows and such. We noticed Keith and Kevin's trucks parked at the farm house. We thought we better take the opportunity to surprise the boys and wake them up. The kids excitedly did just that and woke Uncle Keith and Uncle Kevin. Then they decided they would go cut up some wood. Here are a few pictures.
Here are the hard workers...Kevin, Keith, and my sweet handsome man, Stephen.
Here are all 3 brothers working together cutting some firewood.
With all 3 of their saws going at the same time, it was a tad noisy.
Bella thought so too.
Keith cuttin' away.
Kevin giving it a nice swift swing.
Stephen put everything he had into this one!!
James looks so cute with his little nose all wrinkled up...can you tell we are in farm clothes...Elaina's hair all messy and a beautifully stained shirt. Oh well.
More of our lovely farm attire...no shoes...sleeveless and sweatshirt (Martin vs. Millie). I love it that way though. We have nice clothes for going to church, nice clothes for going to town, and farm clothes...just mix and match. Who cares if one sock is blue the other is pink? Or if the shirt Elaina is wearing looks like it has been through 3 girls. That's what work clothes, or what we call farm clothes are for.
Loading up a nice big stack of firewood. The ground was wet and soft, but Keith's 4x4 truck pulled out of there with no trouble.

Christmas Eve 12.24.09

It is tradition every year that on Christmas Eve, everyone goes to Grannie's to celebrate Christmas. We always order pizza and relax and visit. There was quite a group there. It is always fun getting together with family.
Uncle Tom and Brian visiting.
Papa Troy taking it easy.
Ladies in the kitchen...Aung Glenda, Hayley, and Katherine.
The game "Sequence" was being played. It seemed to be popular this season with all the family home.
Martin had watched "Swiss Family Robinson" from Uncle Brian, and saw on there how the little boy had a little monkey around his neck. He enjoyed doing the same thing with the little stuffed animal monkey at Grannie's.
Jeremy, Mrs. Herzog and I played a few rounds of a card game.
Bella in her Mo's lap.
Reece was so patient letting James crawl all over him. I guess you can tell he is the oldest of 4, and the last 2 being the twin boys.
After Mr. Herzog read the Christmas story, we sang a few carols.
Elaina's little doll from Grannie babbles and makes baby sounds. She mimics it perfectly.
Bella got a baby with a backpack carrier- fun fun!
Grannie gave Martin a Lightning McQueen and Dock car set. He has had a blast with them.
Millie and Grannie and her new "Mary had a little lamb" doll.
James and his new toy.
Mick playing with a few toys.
Brian and Stephanie made the kids some blocks for Christmas. They painted them all red and stenciled each one of our names on one of the long ones. They are just beautiful!!
James enjoying the blocks from Uncle Brian and Aunt Stephanie.

Here we are at Dacus for the Christmas Eve candle light service.
Stephen and I with all of our kidos... and then some. After going to Granny and Papa Troy's we went to Dacus for the Christmas Eve service, then down to the Herzog's. We opened presents, ate a bite, and watched a movie.
The Christmas Tree and Mo and PawPaw's.
Bella holding her new baby and bottles.
Keith was getting a kick out of watching Elaina try and get a sip out of the baby bottle. She would suck and suck, try and try and couldn't figure out how to get the liquid out.
Millie with Uncle Kevin. She is holding her new baby doll and sporting her new bonnet.
James in his little Confederate hat.
Millie was trying to feed James her juice bottle.

Giese Gang Visit 12.09

Here are some photos of our visit with my family. They were making the rounds, visiting with all the family at their houses. We got to have them here for 2 nights. All the kids had such a good time together. It is so neat seeing them all enjoy each other and play so well. Since mom is through with all her treatments, they will be heading back out to Guam right after Christmas. They are looking forward to going back "home".
Stephen thought CJ might like to see his 4x4 truck put to good use....climbing a mountain.....well, sort of.
On our way home from church after picking them up from the airport.
Here is a great looking group of kids. We all went to gather some firewood.
Stephen splitting wood.
James taking a nap.
Shane Boy

Martin and Katie Jo
Bella Jane
Scottie
The kids watching Stephen split wood, and waiting for their turn to throw the next piece into the truck.
It is so fun seeing Martin and Scottie together. It is hard to believe that our son, Martin (4) and my little brother Scottie (6) are such good buds...I mean not hard to believe they are good buds...it is just hard to believe I have kids.
Here are 4 of our little ones ready to hand out Christmas presents to their aunts and uncles.
Scottie and Martin- Scottie got a tape measurer.
Shane made this wagon and gave it to the kids to decorate with these cute stickers.
Nells in her bright happy yellow.
Siege and James sitting back and watching all the action.

Katie gave him a huge box of nerds.

Mom and Dad got all the kids a Dr. Seuss mini board book. Martin must have sat there 15 minutes looking through his.
Bella and her new book.
Shane Boy and his new screw driver set.
Such a fun present from Papa Carl and Mamageese. As you will see from the pictures following, everyone had a fun time.
Assembling the tent and tunnel.
There is Bella having such a good time playing in the tunnel.
Scottie's like "Are you sure it's ok if I go in here?"
Big cheeked 'Laina Girl.
Out popped Martin.
And there is Millie
Peek-a-boo Katie.

Even Nellie took her turn:)
Bro & Sis
We had such a fun time riding Kevin's go-kart while the family was here. Thanks Kevin!
Everyone helping push it off the top of the dirt mound as it was high centered once again.
You can see from the looks on their faces how much fun it was.
Shane driving...so serious.
Stephen taking me for a spin...we went up and over and around the dirt mound... scary, but tons of fun.
Classic of Nells and Siege.
Shane got to drive the tractor as we were working with the cows.
CJ helping with the electric fence.
One evening, Stephen, CJ, Nellie and Shane came up with an obstacle course to do with Kevin's go-cart. They timed each other on three different rounds, subtracted the worst time, and averaged the best 2. They were outside for a few hours having an absolute blast!
...and their back sides.
Cookie makers in training. Mom was making a batch of one of my favorite Christmas treats...Forgotten Cookies. It was so much fun having the family there for a visit.
Stephen and James were sitting at the table visiting with CJ.
"Big" little brother, Siege a.k.a. CJ a.k.a. Carl...no matter what you call him, he is the best big brother (so far...with Shane and Scott coming up, it's hard to tell who will be the biggest).
