While Stephen was at work Monday, he herd the news that Engine 7 and Ladder 16 were in an accident. Stephen is currently at Station 40, but just over a year ago he was at Station 7 which is where he had been for around 4 years. He had also spent around 2 months at Station 16 after he got promoted to chauffeur. All that to say, he knew very well all the guys that were involved in the accident. It was very hard in the beginning, not knowing the status of his friends. Word finally came that they were all miraculously alive!! Brian Edwards, the chauffeur on Engine 7, and Capt. Mayfield on Engine 7 ended up being hospitalized for several days. They will have to go through rehab and more surgery, so it will be a long road to recovery, but we are all grateful that the Lord spared their life. The lady in the white car came out un-harmed, all the firemen on Ladder 16 came out with bumps and bruises, but their was 1 lady on a bicycle that was hit that is still fighting for her life. Please keep them all in your prayers.
