In one of the books Stephen has been reading, "Management Intensive Grazing" by Jim Gerrish, it suggests that you take a pasture walk every 2 weeks to check the progress of your pastures. The ones where the animals have finished grazing, where they are currently grazing, and where they will be moving to in the future. We decided to try and do it with his pay day schedule- every 2 weeks on that Friday or Saturday. We have done that with giving him haircuts and it seems to work well. It will help us keep track of time and have something to help us gauge. Here are a few pictures of our walk.
All the kids and I before we set out on our adventure.
Where's Martin?
Peek-a-boo.
Papa and all his little ones.
What is in there?
Oh, my! What did they find? Some interesting looking hole where something lives.
Elaina took a little cat nap.
Papa and James.
Papa and most of his kidos.
Martin and Millie as they posed after picking Mama some beautiful flowers.
We had a wonderful walk. The pastures and cows are looking great!
