I kinda ran out of time to continue posting as the time got closer to have the baby. Here are a few highlights of some of the fun times we had together as a family from the end of May to the first part of June.
Papa and Millie watering the tomato plants in the garden at the farm. We gave Millie the water hose and she stayed busy for around 45 minutes just watering anything she could find. We would give her a little direction and she would do great!
Millie and Bella Jane had a good time fertalizing the plants with the ground coffee beans we get from Starbucks.
Martin and Papa working on hoing around the tomato plants and putting a layer of hay down around the base to keep the weeds out and retain the moisture.
Lots of little hard working garden helpers.
We cooked our very first brisket on a smoker that Mr. Herzog picked up from the annex that someone had discarded. Stephen cleaned it out really good, greased the hinges, we prepared the brisket and set her on to cook for about 7 hours. Boy was it ever tasty, juicy and tender with great flavor! He can't wait to cook another one.
Something Stephen has enjoyed doing is at 0630hrs. put out the flag and play Revelee, and at 1830 hrs. or dark, take the flag down and play Tapps. The kids and I have really enjoyed listening to him play and look forward to that part of our day. The flag is posted out at the end of our driveway, and one time a car that was passing by, slowed way down, and the people inside took off their hats, as they could tell Stephen was playing to honor the flag, then they waved as they proceeded on. That was special.
Something that keeps us busy is setting up the electric fence for rotational grazing. Sometimes it is just us as a family, sometimes it is just Stephen, and sometimes it is lots of people that help. Here we were in the back of the Covis Hay Field taking up some wire and posts, getting ready to move it somewhere else.
All the girls were with us, and they all wanted to try on Papa's hat.

The kids one day got inventive and decided to put the slide on the front porch. They had a great time and it kept them busy for a while.
Papa and his 4 kiddos...soon to be 5!
Mo brought lunch to our house one afternoon and we had a picnic outside. Here she is with her grand-daughters.
It was a nice afternoon under the shade tree and we all enjoyed the meal.
We had Mo and Pawpaw up to our house to celebrate Mo's birthday. The kids enjoyed helping me make and decorate the cake. We only had 2 finger marks in the icing before we sang happy birthday....not bad.
We have been working on putting up a new fence with Uncle Tommy and Aunt Marilyn, and the 3 big kids had a great time riding with Aunt Marilyn from one person to the next as they were up and down the fence line. Stephen parked the truck in a shady spot, and the kids played while the men worked. Here is a picture of each one of the kids playing while the guys were working on the fence....
