One afternoon when Stephen was at the fire station, the kids and I decided to have a picnic. We made quesadillas, and tea. We loaded everything in the buggie (that mom and dad gave us) that goes behind the bike and took off to the farm. They have a favorite tree they call the "bounce tree". I think it is because since it is laying on its side, they can stand on the rotting limbs and bounce as they have just a little "give". I knew going down the hill towards the creek that it was going to be quite a treck home. I knew this because I had to pedal the bike the hole way down the hill. Sure enough, on the way up, it was quite a feat. I was wearing James in the carrier in the front of me, pulling Millie, Bella and Elaina and all our picnic items in the buggie behind the bike, and Martin was riding his own bike (thank goodness!!!). I had to stop a few times to catch my breath, and I must have been heaving a little more than the kids were used to. Martin was so sweet and encouraging though. He kept saying, "It's OK mama, we are almost there". That was so sweet of him. He melted my heart.
Martin enjoying his supper in the tree.
Here is a close up of what Millie was eating :)
Bella Jane giving a big cheesy grin.
Elaina had already finished hers and was eating a piece of candy for dessert. Recently she has really enjoyed wearing hats- to cute.
Last but not least, James and I. He had supper down there as well and seemed to enjoy the great outdoors more than eating. Oh well, it doesn't look like he is lacking in the nutrition department.
