Here and There March 1st-3rd 2010

We had a nice quick visit with dad recently. He came back from Guam for about 4 days and managed to spend time with each one of his married daughters living here in the states. Jerry and Erin happened to be in Texas for the weekend, Michael and CarrieLynn had time off for a visit, and of course we are always here, excited to have company.
Unfortunately the flash on our camera is broken, hence the nice warm look of the above picture. Anyways, at least you can see everyone. They had a good time sharing stories with Papa Carl, sitting on his lap, and just loving all the attention.
Giving him a good-bye hug.
Here is our littlest, enjoying an apple on the front porch.

Martin was playing with his swords and didn't want to miss out getting them in a picture.
On voting day (3-3-10) after the polls are all closed, there is a meeting held by the precinct chairman (which is Mr. Herzog) and we all loaded up and were present. Stephen proposed a resolution that will be discussed and voted on in Willis on 3-20-10. His resolution was in regards to property taxes.

Stephen has been quite the cook lately. One morning he made breakfast on the wood burning stove. We had bacon, eggs, and grits. It was quite tasty!!

Then, one evening he made "Lemon Poblano Chicken" for supper. He actually concocted this recipe one morning about 2:00 at the fire station after he got back from a late run and was hungry. It is super delicious!! He served it with rice. I can't wait to have it again.

How fun to see your dad! And that's awesome that Stephen is cooking for y'all. Sounds delish! He should do a guest cooking post. ;)
