Elaina Marie's 2nd Birthday 5.19.10

This year for all the kids birthday's Stephen and I are doing something that I remember my parents doing for my younger brother's and sisters on their birthday.  That is giving them a birthday balloon.  So far Bella and Elaina have been absolutely thrilled to have their own balloon.  It adds so much excitement, color, and festive atmosphere.  We have attached it to their bed early in the morning, so that when they wake up, they are surprised.
Elaina and her birthday breakfast: chocolate chip pancakes topped with strawberries and cool whip-YUM!
I attempted making "cake cones" but they didn't turn out to well.  Then we drove down to Mo and Pawpaw's and they all fell over on the way down.  I was so disappointed.  Oh well, they were fun to eat.  I made the cupcake part with the mini muffin tin and put them inside a mini ice cream cone, so they were cute and tiny.  We had them with a scoop of ice cream.
So far Bella and Elaina have new matching outfits from Mo and Pawpaw.  Thank you!  (Mrs. Herzog knows how much I like to dress the kids alike- so usually gives me the heads up when the first birthday comes to save the outfit for a little while till all the birthdays are over so they can wear them together).
Big brother Martin lighting the candles...all 2 of them!
Here we are as a family on Elaina's birthday.  Elaina has such a bubbly personality and is quite the little entertainer.  It seems as if she knows how to make people laugh at her and enjoys doing it.  She is always so happy and talks up a storm.  She loves to sing and keep up with her older brother and sisters (and usually does quite well).  She is such a joy and we are so grateful for her fun spirit and lighthearted personality.  We love you 'Laina Girl!
