The day started out with loads of fun as the kids were building castles and towers with their blocks.
We have been wanting to give James a haircut for a while now, but never made the time to do it. Well, this is the day! We usually do haircuts every 2 weeks on Fridays. I will cut Stephen's and Stephen will cut Martin's, and now he will cut James's, although I don't think he will need one every 2 weeks like Stephen and Martin.
Initially, James didn't care for the noise of the clippers, but eventually decided that he would be alright and decided to give a big grin.
Here are my 3 boys! What handsome men!
I think James looks a lot like Stephen in his baby pictures. James's hair isn't as dark as it was 6 month's ago, but that is probably due to the fact that he is outside a lot and the sun is lightening it.
Later on that afternoon, we went to the farm to tag some heifers. Mrs. Herzog had Grandpa McClendon (her dad) with her for a few days as he had just gotten out of the hospital again, and he came and watched and played with the great grand kids.
We had a nice picnic under the big old pecan tree.
There is our cute little smiley ham-bone with his grown up hair cut. I also wanted to add that he is now walking...yes, walking! It is always a "prerequisite" in our family for the youngest to walk before the next baby is born, and sometimes they don't have as much time as they are all between 11 and 13 months apart. They have all been successful though, and I always look forward to them walking. They seem so free and happy and it is so much easier on me not having to carry them into the 3rd trimester (although I must add, Stephen does most of the carrying). James was right about average for walking in our family at about 10 (and a little more) months.
That evening we helped Kevin haul some hay into the barn that he just had square baled. Martin was exhausted and took a snooz on Papa's lap as he drove the truck and trailer.
Millie and Bella rode with Chief Mikeska a little later as he took a turn and drove the truck and trailer.
Stephen, Cole Boy, and Mr. Herzog hauled on another rig as Mrs. Herzog drove that truck.
The kids and I drove around in the little red truck and watched all the action.
Elaina Marie wearing Stephen's hat and lovin' it!

First Haircut....wow, he does look like a big boy now, and not such a baby look anymore. After all he is walking all over:) Memories in the making. Love and SMiles, mom
